My New Name

I am having more fun today.  You know how I LOVE to organize stuff.  If you don't, let me tell you.  I LOVE to organize stuff.  My Mom says I came out of the womb organizing everything.  It is my God-given gift or talent, and I really am thankful that I have it.  I probably could have used a few more such as Patience or Long Suffering, but....  God knows best what each of us needs and all our gifts work together!  Wouldn't it be awful if we all had the same gifts?

Yesterday, I spent the day at my office, and while I was there, the rest of my beads, string, pliers and various other things arrived from Fire Mountain Gems and Beads.  WOW!  Pliers are expensive!  I think I have purchased one of each kind ever invented and won't have to buy any more.  I still have to buy a "Chasing Hammer".

WHO do you chase with it???

WHO names these things???

Anyway, I don't have one yet.

I brought all my jewelry stuff up to my sewing room this morning, and spent the whole morning cutting everything open and putting it away in the little divided compartments in the cute bead suitcase I purchased at Hobby Lobby.

I have NO idea what each is called, but none of it was expensive.  I figure as long as I like the size and the color, it doesn't matter what it is called.  I haven't made a single bobble yet, but I am going to try real soon.

This box was really nice with all of its little divider sections, and underneath all these beads is another section, BUT it wasn't big enough to hold all those pliers and the not-yet-purchased chasing hammer.

About the time I got this much done, my husband hollered upstairs that he was ready to go to town.  He had to get some grass seed.  I decided to go with him to find something to put the remainder of my jewelry-making tools in.

When Jerry and I got to Lowe's, we got the grass seed and some scorpion killer -- OH, REMIND ME TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE SCORPION -- and then I asked if we could go find a tool box for me.

Now Jerry doesn't think I need a tool box because he doesn't think I'm smart enough to know how to use tools.  It's a wonder I can use all the sewing machines and embroidery machines and computers around here.  He has the God-given gift of fixing everything, so I am more than happy to let him.  I try to never let him see me actually USING a tool!  That would blow my cover!

Anyway, we go over to the tool section of Lowe's.  I IMMEDIATELY see the tool "box" that I want which is really a tool "bag".  It is $29.00 and Jerry notices that right away.  I pick it up and squeal with delight that it is the COOLEST tool box in the whole wide world.

He says, "Now, Joy, you do NOT NEED a tool box like that!  That is ridiculous!  Did you SEE how much it is?"

So I go down the aisle a bit and pick up the next one I see that I like that is only $19.00.  I hold it up by the two little handles and I squeal with delight again that it is JUST PERFECT for what I am going to use it for.

He says, "I don't know WHAT you think you are going to put in it, Joy!"

I tell him I have to put a chasing hammer in it.

He looks at me like I'm nuts and announces that he is sure the hammer I already have -- that I hang pictures up with -- will do just fine.

I say, "PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZE DADDY, can I have this tool box?  I really, really, really like it!"  (Don't shake your head like I'm making that up.  I REALLY DID say that.)

He just laughed at me, and said I could have it if I really wanted it.  So here it is!  Isn't it wonderful?  I have all of my pliers, my wire, elastic and such in it.  AND, I begged him to let me buy a new tape measure that I could hang on the side of it.  He insisted I didn't need that either, but I was persistent.

And, of course, when I saw this picture, I decided to give myself a new name.  Remember "Home Improvement" from years ago with "Tim, The Tool Man, Taylor"?  I can't grunt like he did, but I do sneeze and blow my nose a lot.

Now, I need to go back to the two online jewelry-making classes I paid for, and actually attempt to make something.  Pamela Ann is helping me.  She told me about the coolest things you can use to twist wire around.  Hope they will fit in my tool bag.  Isn't it GREAT!?

Hugs, Joy
