Two More Fast-N-Fun Tops and Girl Retreat

Hey Everyone!!!

My GOODNESS, the weather is so gorgeous here.  It has been 60's and 70's for over a week and continues.  Our "Girl Retreat" at Terry's house this weekend will be so nice if the weather stays like this.  I may sew outside on her steps!

OHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I have to go look for a sewing machine.  Hold on a minute for me ..............

Okay, I'm back.  I found it in the guest room closet.  YAY!  I need to set it up and oil it and get it ready for our weekend.  Terry has gone silent today.  She is probably doing something at the church with her husband.  She came over last night to look through my fabrics for something to go with her new quilt.  She took home several pieces to try.

I made a video yesterday to show those of you who care the two OTHER Fast-N-Fun tops that I made.  Here it is:

Jerry and I went out for a steak dinner last night to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary.  The waitress who waited on us had an extreme hair problem that was about to set me off.  I did really good, however, remembering how a former friend told me that if you correct someone, they will be mean to you.  I didn't want her to poison my steak.

IF I go back to that place again, I will REQUEST a server whose hair isn't hanging over his/her face from forehead to chin!  She kept WACKING it back across her face over and over and over but, OF COURSE, it kept falling right back down.  I wanted to see if I had some masking tape in my purse so I could go tape it to the side of her head!  Dinner was good in spite of the unkempt help, although I did keep checking for stray hairs in my food!

I did just come across this excellent piece of advice:

I have to go.  The ladies will be coming here sometime this weekend, and I need my sewing room to be accident free, lol.  If you knew what I was working on, you would understand.  I'll tell you all about it next week.

Hugs, Joy

  2. I honestly don't know which one I love the best. They look so nice on you. Maybe it's the slim cut pants. Anyway enjoy your weekend. Look forward to seeing your latest quilt project.

  4. Hi Joy,
Wonder if you can help me. I have bought the pattern as a download but can't seem to find how to download it! Please can you tell me what to look for. It shows up in my orders but just shows me a receipt! I am feeling quite frustrated. Hope you can help. Seeing your tops tempted me to buy it. Thanks, Sylvia

    1. The download is within your computer software. You need to find where your downloads go in your computer. You can ask for "Help" from your computer help line. I have a MAC and I can see the downloads come down but sometimes they go directly into a set-up download file and I have to fetch them from there. Hope this helps!

    2. I hadn't even found how to download it onto the computer but have had help from Stitcher's Guild and found the link and have it sorted now. Thanks for your help though. Much appreciated.

  5. Well, Miss Joy, you are looking great! Love the new blouses because of the neckline. NOW, when you and Terry and all have your fun, fun weekend (without me just because I can't sew), I want to see plenty of pictures, especially of the famous T-Shirt -- need a group photo, too! Enjoy, enjoy! I am so thankful to our Great God for bring Terry into your life as a Neighbor, no less! When He does things, He does it right, does't He? Love you much, my Friend! Margaret

  6. Hello Joy,
Congratulations for your 41 years of marital bliss! There is something to teach to the younger generation there. I shall celebrate my 47th anniversary in April. I love all these tops and I find the black and white perticularly sophisticated. I think I like it best without collar as the neckline is very becoming, but the removable cowl gives you another option. I admire your energy! Have a blast this week-end!

  7. Hi Joy,
A while ago you purchased a Janome cover stitch machine, I'm interested in knowing how much you find yourself using it, and if you are still happy with the purchase.
    Thanks,
    Mary

    1. Hi Mary,
Yes, I do have the Janome cover stitch Pro. I just used it to put hems in 8 sleeves and 4 bodice bottoms. The ONLY problem I have had is have 3 spools of the same color thread. I wound two bobbins for the gray knit top. I do not regret buying it.

  8. HI Joy, first congratulations on your 41 years of marriage. I just love to see people staying together through thick and thin and still get along so well.
I previously said I am not fond of the sort of maternity look but your tops look so cute on you. And what a terrific collar.
    Take care
