Boating at Last

This was a really nice day.  Not very windy and about 80 degrees outside.  Jerry actually took off early from work!  That hardly EVER happens.  He stopped someplace in town to buy a fishing license for each of us, and then he headed home to pick up his new boat and his old wife.

I guess it was about 3:00 by the time we got on the lake.  It was refreshing and peaceful.  Jerry was very happy with the birthday present he hasn't been able to use since he got it.  He wanted to try out his new depth sounders (fish finders).  Just looked like a bunch of strange marks to me -- like all the others -- but he seemed excited about it.

I fished for awhile, but I didn't catch a single fish.  So WHAT is the point of the fish finder???  Just because you find them doesn't mean they are hungry.

He got a call from his daughter, Jeree, who lives in California.

That is a VERY RARE treat.  We stopped the boat and talked to her for quite awhile.

And if you have ever wondered what my Mother looks like, here "she" is!  That could be a picture of my Mother several years ago.  Scary!  Of course, it is me in the boat today.
Here, you can see the new fish finder.
Please be impressed. (-;
There are two of them in the boat, and one wasn't working.  He has to call to see what the problem is.

I made a new blouse.  Not sure if it looks really good or really ridiculous.  I color-blocked it.  I'll take a picture if I wear it tomorrow.

Be back soon.

Hugs, Joy

  1. I'm SO jealous :), we won't be able to enjoy warm temps for a while yet. I think you look adorable and I love the hat. Did you make it?

    1. No, I didn't make the hat. I HATE hats, but I thought I better protect my dyed hair from the sun so it didn't turn yellow! I NEED to make a hat that stays on your head while flying across the lake. I guess I would have to tie it under my chin like a little girl, lol.

  2. So happy you are having a warm weather. It' s been cold here in So Cal. And yes, the fish finder is a great novelty. Not sure about catching a fish. I use to say maybe its the fish day off.

    P.S. Forgive me if my comments have mispelled words, I have no clue, only after posting

    1. LOL! Don't you hate spell check. I am always shocked at what I type on my cell phone compared to what actually appears.

    1. Thank you! Now, if I can figure out how to keep the hat from blowing OFF my head! Maybe velcro strips attached to my ears.
