Cracks are SO EXCITING!

Here we are at hump day already.  The weeks go by so fast, but the repairs get done so slooooooooowly. 

We have to have Power Lift back to Kingfisher to do something to the outside piers because most of the cracks we paid $11,000 to fix in April are now back!  Steve, from Power Lift, was able to show up today while Jerry was taking his Mom to the bone doctor.  That was really a miracle since we just called his company yesterday, and they are located a hundred miles away from here.

Steve arrived right on time, and he began looking around.  He started acting all happy and exhuberant as he looked at one ceiling-to-floor crack, and then the next ceiling-to-floor crack, and then the closet diagonal crack from door facing to ceiling, and then the big crack next to the brand new tile around the tub.

He kept saying, "This is REALLY GREAT!!!"

I was beginning to wonder if the guy had been in the sun too much today. 

I informed Steve that it sure didn't seem that GREAT to me!!!

He explained that he was all excited because the repairs that were needed could be done OUTSIDE instead of under the new carpet again.  Well, that was good news, I suppose, although I am getting really tired of this re-re-re-repair of the foundation.

We are back home at home #2 tonight, and we leave to go back to home #1 in the morning.  This weekend I get to empty out the contents of two cabinets for the kitchen remodel to continue on Monday morning.  Another ongoing repair job.  Remember the leak in the wall behind the refrigerator?  Was it April when we found that or maybe May?  It seems like ages ago.  Hopefully, that job will get done by the end of next week, and then I can return to Kingfisher for the foundation people to come again, and then the crack people to come again.....  Such fun!

And yet I am still sewing!  Yep.  I had enough of the green linen leftover that I was able to cut out another blouse.  It isn't finished enough to take a picture yet, and I don't suppose it will be all that exciting when it is done.  I wish I could make dresses like Goodbye Valentino does.  She has a wonderful blog if you would like to check it out.  Just google it.  I COULD make dresses, but I don't wear them, so I don't make them.

While I was sitting on the couch in Kingfisher today waiting for Jerry to get back from his Mom's doctor appointment, my phone rang.  It was Hollie calling from Alaska.  I was SO EXCITED to hear from her, and I had plenty of time to talk and to listen.  We talked for about 30 minutes, and then she had to go because John had just gotten home for lunch.  She was fixing "sliders".  I don't even know what "sliders" are, but they sound good.

This is Hollie, my granddaughter-in-law.  Isn't she beautiful!!! 

She told me she LOVES being a wife.  I told her I did too.  I wanted to be a mom and a wife and have a house from the time I was 12 years old.  It was the highest goal I aimed for.  I never thought of having a lot of money or owning a lot of stuff.  Just wanted to be in love and have a happy home.  The one I grew up in was real happy at times, but there were some real sad times too.  I suppose everyone can say that.

Nothing more exciting than that happened today.  I think when I get back home tomorrow, I am going to fire up my embroidery machine and put something on this new green blouse.  You are really supposed to do that BEFORE you cut it out.  I don't care.  I think if I keep it simple, the garment won't shrink up too much.  The facings aren't on yet, so I think I can make it look good.

Someone asked me to do a tutorial on something, but right now, I can't remember what it was.  Hmmmm?  A Senior moment?  Maybe I will do a short embroidery tut tomorrow.  Don't hold your breath.  Tomorrow may bring something entirely different my way.  Hope it holds something real special for you!
