Sunday Surprise

Before I tell you the wonderful story of my lunch date today, I have to tell you about church.  Church was Rev. John Hagee, as usual.  He started a new series today about WHAT we can do to save America.  It was really good.  Phylly even listened to it twice!  He gave everyone in the church a prayer to pray for the 40 days of prayer.  I will give you the link to it if you would like to join me in praying it every day prior to the election.

Prayers not prayed will never be answered!

I have printed out two copies -- one for myself and one for Jerry.  I'm sure they will allow you to print as many copies as you need for your family.

I truly believe America is under attack from powers a whole lot more powerful than Socialists.  I hope you will join me praying for what is probably the most important election EVER!

After church, I drove to Ted's Mexican Restaurant to see my middle grandson, Jacob Troy.  I have not seen him since last Christmas.  He and I are very close, and I love him dearly.  Family issues caused some messed up thinking on his part, and he made the wrong choice to exclude Jerry and I from his new life with girlfriend and child.  I don't blame him, and I even accepted it.  God knows the kids don't need fighting and bickering from every side.  We decided to just leave them alone.

If you read yesterday's post, you know his girlfriend, Kourtney, contacted me, and she came over yesterday with JoJo, and it was a perfect day.  Jacob couldn't come because he had to work two shifts yesterday.  He wanted to take me out to lunch today according to Kourtney, so, OF COURSE, I was there.  I ordered a very tiny lunch -- just one enchilada -- in case they really did get the check.  They did!  I tried to pay them back with cash.  They wouldn't take it.  Very grown up and sweet!

I was sitting in the waiting area on a long bench waiting for a table when Jacob, Kourtney and JoJo arrived.  Jacob walked over to me and put his arms out and I jumped into them.  I hugged him and hugged him and hugged him and kissed his neck and told him I loved him.  He hugged me too.

Then all of us sat down to wait for our table and Jacob said he has SO MUCH to tell me.  He started talking, and never stopped.  He is soooooooooooooooooooooooooo adorable!!!  I took lots of pictures, and I also got this mini-movie.  I've only watched it about six times, so far.  I LOVE my cell phone mostly because of the camera and the ability to do this at any moment.  I've never downloaded a video right here before, so I hope it works for you.

Video has been removed to speed up download.  JMB  09-15-12

Jacob was recently in a wreck that totalled his car and he was hit by the air bag.  Hence, the almost black eye.  THANK GOD, he was barely hurt at all.  Jacob's Mom, Tammy, is my only daughter.  He is driving her car now until he gets the insurance money.

Here are Jacob and Kourtney.  JoJo wasn't cooperating for pictures.  I'm sure she is already thinking, "WHAT IS WITH THIS WOMAN!!!???  All she does is take pictures!!!"

Get used to it JoJo, my sweet!  You can see the grandkids are used to it.  They see me coming with a camera, they pose.  Just like Phylly!

And here is "Daddy" and a VERY HAPPY Great Grandma!

Don't know why the Iphone pictures are so grainy.  I looked for settings for the camera, but I didn't find any.  Better than no pictures at all, I say!

I've got to go now and be happy somewhere else.  I am finishing my royal blue dress that is NOT gabardine.  It is "suiting".  I'm not sure how it got that weird name, but it did.  I really like it.  It is some kind of combination of rayon, poly and spandex -- I think.  I like it so much, I went to Hancock's and bought it in three more colors.  I'm assuming if it is called "suiting", you can make pants with it.

Maybe I'll have pics of it tomorrow.

Hugs, Joy

  2. Now that is one happy smiling grandmother. What a beautiful family. Yes, God answers prayer!

It was an awesome sermon this morning. Well worth listening to twice. Actually, I'd listen to it again if I could. Praise God for men of God that tell the truth; not in sound bites to be spit out by the media, but pulpit-pounding, honest-to-God truth. And if it hurts, then you better ask for forgiveness and repent. I pray God watches over him and other men of God who have decided to speak out and not be "politically correct". Pastor Hagee will provide prayer suggestions throughout the forty days. There is a place at the website you mentioned to sign up for the suggestions. I sent it to all of my family members with email addresses and ask them to join me in prayer. I hope there will be a million prayer warriors praying for the forty days before the election.
    Hugs, Phylly
