Look at this AWESOME New Blouse Pattern

Yes!

I decided to stop quilting and make some knit tops that aren't too big for me.

I JUST HAPPENED to come across a pattern while looking around the internet as I do every night.  It is from a company with the strangest name:

SAF-T-POCKETS PATTERNS

Evidently they make patterns with hidden pockets.  Go to the website and have a look around.  It is at www.saf-t-pockets.com

On the home page, you will see this pattern called "FAST N FUN"
and
It truly is FAST and FUN.  It is $8.00, and very well worth every cent, IMHO.

You can print it out and paste the sheets together.  They went together easily and had the best alignment I have ever done.

I just measured across the bust area of the pattern, and I cut out the size closest to mine but not less than.  I used the Size M.

Wonderful instructions, and the pattern fit me perfectly with my usual three adjustments that I make to every pattern on earth:

Full Bust Adjustment
Sway Back
Round Back

Actually, in the gray one, I didn't do anything to the back.  The side seam swings forward, but you really can't tell unless you are looking for it.  I fixed the paper pattern back before cutting out the blue version, and it fits perfectly.

Here is the FIRST one in a darling gray knit with shiny silver dots from JoAnn Fabrics.  I bought it many moons ago, so have no idea if they still have it.

I no sooner got this one finished, I decided to make several more.  There are THREE collars to choose from and two sleeves.

The following one is NOT FINISHED.  All I have to do is sleeves and hems.  So fast.

I really like the collar.  Have never seen one like it.  I hate collars up around my face, and I don't like turtle necks.  This is just perfect!

Gotta run.  I'll show you more pics of this fun pattern as I make them.

I am making movies of Terry's tee shirt quilt business, but I have to upload them tonight.  You KNOW how long that takes around here.

Hugs, Joy

  8. Like the collar but I think the style makes you look huge and is not flattering. I know you like to be honest so hope you can accept your own medicine.

    1. Thank you for your comment, Nonny. I'm not crazy about the "maternity" look usually, but after my husband told me at least FIVE times how much he likes it, and Terry is going to make one, and other readers like it, I guess I will still wear it. It certainly isn't my usual style. I'm trying to lose a few more pounds, so hopefully, that will help the "huge look".

  11. Hi Joy, Marsha McClintock is the owner of Saf-t Pockets, she has quite a few really cute patterns. Marsha is a very clever lady with her patterns including lots of hidden pockets for passports and essential papers when traveling. She also teaches smart packingI techniques. My husband and I travel to Europe has often as we can and we only take one carry on suitcase so knowing newer techniques for packing are always welcome. One of my favorite patterns of hers coat pattern for traveling. So cute. Do try some of her other patterns.

  12. Oh, and I forgot to say that your blouses look so cute....I, am not fond of the maternity look for myself as I don't have any bust but it looks really cute on you....and love that gray fabric.

  13. Joy the blue blouse looks really nice on you. You look really nice in the jewel tone colors. The gray blouse well not so much. It makes you look well dumpy. And you do not have a dumpy figure. And I do love the collar though.

  17. Hi Joy
It's me again. This morning I ordered the download and paid through Paypal. Several hours later I contacted them to ask why I still could not download. The owner Marsha called back and was wondering why that pattern was "flying off the shelf since this morning". I told her about your blog and the pictures. This should tell you how much we love your tops!...:-)

  18. Hi Joy,
This is Marsha McClintock of SAF-T-POCKETS Patterns. I knew someone was talking about our Fast n Fun Patterns as the Simply Terrific Tee has been flying out the door this morning. Your tops look so cute on you. I developed these quick, downloadable patterns to add to people's travel wardrobes but I wear them everyday. It's always wonderful to hear from someone who enjoyed the experience of sewing one of your patterns. Thanks so much for sharing our pattern with your blog audience.

  20. Very cute! I love that collar. I'm like you, I can't handle turtle necks or big collars around the face. I haven't sewn in awhile but this is an inspiration to start up again. Thanks for sharing.

  21. Joy, I think I owe you an apology as my comment came out as rather terse and unkind. I know how much work you have put into losing weight and how good you look and I really meant that the style totally negates this as it doesn't make you look the trim lady you really are. You achieve a beautiful fit with your clothes and fitted clothes suit you, so stick with them! You could still use the collar on a less tent -like style.

  22. Joy, you look lovely in the very flattering tops! The style is quite current and I love you in it! I have always stayed away from sewimg with knits, but you've inspired me. Don't know why I do that as I have a great serger and some very nice sewing machines. Probably because I am used to quilting with cotton

  23. Hey Joy I haven't been on the computer for awhile (been working too many hours)so I'm way behind on all the happenings. I just love this pattern and just ordered mine. I have lots of knits that I need to use up. I love the grey one and the black and white one. They look so elegant on you. So happy that life is great again. Take care.

    1. Hi Ramona,
You will love this pattern. It fits so well in the shoulders. I used Size Medium and I weigh 138 right now. I did an FBA, Sway Back and Round Back. I have made a total of FOUR of these now. I really have to change patterns for the next several.

  24. Hey beautiful lady, you smile is so pretty! I also don't like turtle neckline. It seems like something stuck in my neck. But I love your collar style. It's just unique. I am happy to find your blog and see this unique style.
