Window Saga Continues and SFD Shirt

Well, it is March 7th today.  March 7th is the day after March 6th.  March 6th was the GUARANTEED -- ABSOLUTELY, FOR SURE day I was to get the final three windows put in this house.

Guess what?
They aren't here.  Another excuse from Window World, and the excuse was a lie.  I guess Patrick, who very sheepishly called to explain, was too embarrassed to tell me the truth, but his supervisor, Kent, had to come to my house to adjust the two sliding screen doors, and he didn't KNOW Patrick had embellished the story, and he just blurted out what really happened.  I didn't even bring it up or ask.

What happened was several weeks ago, the Reordered windows did come in.  Someone noticed that the glass was broken in the box, but "someone" did not OPEN the box all the way.  They just decided to order another piece of glass and put it in the frame.  So the new piece of glass arrived on March 5th at Window World.  When the original box with the broken glass was opened, and the frame was removed, it was discovered that the frame was crushed on one corner.  Hence, the broken glass!  If they had just opened the box to begin with, they would have known to order a whole window.

The lie Patrick told me was that the piece of glass they ordered came in broken.  Not true!

Oh, the tangled webs we weave, when we practice to deceive."
I have been working VERY HARD on a new SFD blouse/shirt.  First, I started drawing off a new blouse blueprint.  Then, I remembered I also had the shirt kit, and maybe it was really a shirt I wanted.  I haven't done that one in a long time, and it was like starting over.  There are lots of written instructions, but I really didn't want to read a book before drawing my pattern.  Besides, I had done it before, and I thought it would all just come back to me.  Hopefully, I will get something cut out today to show you.

I have to add a bust dart -- even though there isn't suppose to be one -- and I am trying to add a shawl collar.  It looks so easy when Glenda does it, but I just stand and stare and wonder:  Will it be too wide?  Will it be too straight?  Will it be too round?  Will it be too high on my neck?  When I am the designer, I have no faith at all in my ability to get it right.  Yes, it is just a curve, but there are a LOT of curvy shapes.  I will keep you posted on the outcome.

Have a Terrific Thursday!

Hugs, Joy

  1. Just do what I do when faced with something you aren't comfortable or don't know how to do; just start. If it is wrong, then you can go back and fix it, but you will never do anything if you don't start. That's my philosophy and I'm sticking to it.
