GOOD Friday!!!

I've gotten over my dress form blues.  I'm "casting my care" (1 Peter 5:7) as Dave Meyer always tells Joyce.  All our trials are NOTHING compared to what Christ did for us.  Not only did he have to die, he had to be tortured.  God, forgive me for complaining.  I'm going to try to do much better.  I have so much to be thankful for, and truly, I am.  If the worst thing that happens to me is owning a dress form base I can't use, then I will still consider myself extremely blessed in a million ways!  So many people suffering such horror these days.  Our soldiers giving their limbs and even their lives for an unwinnable cause.  People being murdered by the thousands in other countries by a vicious leader.

So many people all around us suffering with cancer.  I noticed my Mother-in-Law's next-door-neighbor, Cheryl, this week was outside getting her mail.  At first, I didn't think it was her because she was nearly bald.  The last time I saw her, she had a really nice hairdo.  I hollered, "Cheryl, is that you?"  She walked over to me.  I knew she had already had both breasts removed -- the cancer returned -- she went through all the chemo and radiation again -- and NOW, more cancer on her sternum and MORE chemo and radiation.  And I'm upset over a dress form.  Shame on me!

I cut out a new pattern today.  It is my second Silhouette pattern.  It is #575, Sonja's Blouse.  I actually used Lucy for the first time, and it was amazing how close she resembles my shape.  I fit the paper to her body first, and then to mine.  I'll have Phylly check it in the morning, and then I'll cut it out.  Oh, I took some pictures ------------ hold on while I download them ------------------.

Okay, since that last sentence and this one, Mr. Fix-It came in and cleaned up my computer because he heard me say it was being slow.  You really have to watch what you say around Mr. Fix-It!

So here are the very first pictures of the very first fitting on Lucy.  Didn't she do a great job?  I really do like her.  When I'm not using her, I keep my clothes on her because I don't want her to get her one and only outfit dirty.

Notice I have put in the

ROUND BACK correction up near her neck

and the

SWAY BACK correction at her waist.

I didn't make any changes at all to the front of this pattern because it fits so well already.  Remember, these are Peggy Sager's Silhouette Patterns, and you have the choice of a B, C or D cup in the bust.  VERY nice.

Jerry has a movie ready to watch.  I better go join him.

Wishing you ALL a glorious Resurrection Day weekend.

Hugs, Joy

  1. Blessed, peaceful Easter wishes to you and
    yours.

Sure don't want to get you even angrier, but I
was reading something over at Stitchers Guild and saw the link. I can't get over how much this looks like the FF dressform .. and way less.

Am I wrong? I just can't see what's different, but then I don't know if that's just their basic opening price structure, excluding many necessary add-ons.

    I'm still appalled at how they've (MIS)treated
    you.

I know you'll get it all straightened out and
make the absolute best of it all, whatever the
    end result.

    God bless,
    Joy

  2. I wonder if that dress form includes the base. It doesn't have arms, but they are just in the way anyhow. Sure does look good enough. Oh, well. Live and learn.
